Existing media (smile)

I am going to conduct research into existing products so I have a better idea as of what I should and could create and how they give an impact. This is used by companies in order to understand what the competition is creating campaigns and how we can better their work. I am doing this research so I can find out what is already on the market, deconstruct them to see what works and then apply that to my own work in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBS7v-v5oMo CAMH's has done a YouTube video about anxiety. The video begins with a girl talking in hospital bed. We can tell this because she is in a plain room with a plain blue hospital gown on. she begins by saying that she can't breath. This gives the video an instant drop into the scenario. The tone of the video is very serious and the colors are very desaturated. This is not a  happy video. Smile re-edit

  Upon editing I was fairly confident with the fact that i would find a font that I liked. However most fonts are very thick or very fine. I knew what I was wanting but it was none of the images that were currently displayed. Not long after I was able to find the right font. This font is very light on the image but holds a serious tone. I think it works well within the feedback that I was given by people and works well with the overall brief. The font is also easier to read and stands off from the background. I am confident in my video and believe it is now at the the best standard it can be.

Codes and conventions

  Codes and conventions are typical key elements that are found in media products.   For example, film posters include billing blocks, Titles and images.     Neale and genre theory – repetition and difference   For example,  James  bond movies are  repetitive  but they change all the time in actors and storyline. Marvel movies are repetitive but they always have different  actors  but the world always seem to be “ending”.   They always have a pre-established audience and fanbase.    Sans Serif – less formal    Serif – formal font with hard edges.     Semiotics  – signs and symbols    E.G Red Dress – love, anger, death   Connotations\ encoded message       Cultivation theory    A high user of media that can have their thoughts changed so they fit in with society more.    He believed that if you used media for more that  8 hours a day, you w...
